Beyonce…Pregnant! Congrats to the proud parents

If you’re living under a rock and not watching the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards the world found out that Beyonce and her oh so fab husband Jay-Z are expecting their 1st child. She arrived at the pre-show sporting the beautiful baby bump. Twitter and the blogs went crazy. She looks beautiful and just glowing!

When she hit the stage (killed it btw) she performed Love on Top! To end the performance she showed of that bump rubbing it proudly. The crowd and world went bananas! Man I’m tellin you Jay was proud as all get out!

I know we are gonna follow her entire pregnancy and when that baby comes, u better believe those two will stack up, cause I’m willing to bet that every magazine is going to make major offers for the 1st pictures of their beautiful child.

Support a SEXual awareness concert!

So a friend and former classmate of mine Taleytha, has been working tirelessly with her commitee to Run a huge SEXual awareness concert for college students aiding youth

She submitted her idea for the Pepsi Refresh Project. If her idea is selected she will receive $50,000 to put on this concert that is meant to help Atlanta College Students as well as inner city youth. And as someone who just graduated from a school in ATL, and she is a dear friend of mine, she has all my support. I’m hoping that you all will support her as well the link to vote is below.

Tia Mowry Gives Birth

Congratualtions to Tia Mowry and her husband Cory Hardict as they both welcomed a beautiful baby boy on Tues.  June 28th 2011.

The little guy weighed in at 8lbs! Both mom and baby are doing well and are healthy.

And in true Hollywood fashion, we as her fans will get an inside at look at the lives of Tia and her sister Tamera as their reality show Tia & Tamera which is set air some time in August on the style Network. Wewill get to see the journey of  Tia’s pregnancy. yay us!

Beyonce’s 4 Album Review

So i know it has been some time since my last post. But the occasion called for this post. The long awaited release of Queen B Beyonce’s album 4. After running some errands I hit target and brought my copy. I’ve had it on rotation for the last 2 hours. And cause I love you guys I’m going to be honest about the album. It is definitely an amazing. Your head with bop from beginning to end.  However I don’t think this is Beyonce’s best album. I still stand behind saying that B’Day is her best album. But i digress. 4 as an album gave us everything. She has her ballads, of course the dance tracks and some mid tone songs that you just put on and groove to.

A lot of her fans and critics alike had somewhat of mixed feelings about this album, due to Run this World (girls).  I love the song, but it, in no way reflects the entire album. Quite honestly her growth since making the professional choice to split with her manager (father) Matthew Knowles, is evident all over the album. She played with sounds and beats and I think the album reflects where she is at this point in her life.

But I must commend her, she really let her voice and her creative mind take over the album. and when I say take over, I mean in a way that she controls the entire album. Start Over one of my favorite tracks, its shows a lot of growth on her part as an artist and someone who took the time to work on this project.

Love on Top is a fun joint. Mainly cause it gives you an old school Motown feeling. I feel like if she made a video to the song it would be Beyonce and her three back-up singers in diana ross wigs with matching dresses.

Countdown…my song!!!! definitely one for the ladies that like to move their hips. Its not a club banger but still a song that you and your girls will sing in the car or into your hair brushes or remotes!

And how could I forget Party ft. Andre 3000 this song already caught my heart simply cause it had Andre on it. He is one of the few collaborations on the album. But this one gives you that old school 90′s feel. On the level of an Aaliyah or a Mary J. You just vibe. You can definitely catch this joint at the block parties!

I’m not going to go into the entire album cause I want to leave some mystery about the album. The album on the outside continues to show how Beyonce is a true business woman. Just by the simple way she laid the album.

In case you haven’t noticed she separated her hit singles just so you sit a listen to the album. It may seem like nothing, but think about it, if all her singles were right next to each other, would you honestly listen to the whole album? hmmmm? exactly!

I will say this is Bey’s most versatile album. She did take us on a journey, like you’re moving through her mind. She’s letting us know what kind of sounds she enjoys, and showcasing where she fits in with music.

I suggest you guys go out and get the album. She does deliver. Don’t judge the entire album on Run the World (for those who are) oh for those of you that will be in NYC on July 1st be sure to hit central park to see her live on GMA!

Who Run This World…Beyonce Duh!

so millions upon millions of American Idol fans/Beyonce Fans/people in general watched the world premiere of Queen B Beyonce debut her latest video Run This World (Girls) and I have to tell you guys, it is very much a Beyonce Video. Nothing but pure fierceness, great outfits, and the dancing…need I say more. What I love is that Beyonce still makes videos that you want to watch. Anybody that grew up during the 80′s and 90′s you remember what it’s like to get excited to see the video. You spent hours on end watching music videos. This video took me back to that time.

Beyonce has always been about empowering and uplifting young women, and if you for some reason didn’t pay attention, she went in on this song. there is a line in the song that says “give it up for the college grads” Ya’ll know i had to give 3 snaps in the air for that cause earlier this month I just completed my undergrad work. She had an amazing amount of women in the video not only as models but as dancers. And if you ask me its one of her best dance videos.

I’m excited for B to drop this next album, I want her to get back to being raw, not that ‘I am Sasha Fierce’ wasn’t raw, but this video gave me a different feeling. Its like she is realizing that there is no box to think outside of and is really being creative. You can feel differently if you would like but damn it i stick by how I feel.

RIP Mia Amber

The plus size modeling world and all of hollywood has lost an angel! Model/actress Mia Amber passed away on Tuesday. Mia had out patient knee surgery, but shortly after, was complaining about shortness of breath and collapsed. The cause of death is still unknown, and has not been linked to the surgery. An autopsy has been ordered, and more details will begin to make its way to the public.

Lets keep her and her family and friends in your prayers. She is one of the young women that made it ok not be a size 2 and love our bodies. Healthy is the new Skinny!

Beyonce got us Moving Our Bodies

SO as apart of First Lady Obama’s campaign for a healthier nation, Queen B Beyonce has realeased a remake of her hit single Get me Bodied and has named is ‘Move Your Body’  and has just released the video. Its super cute, clearly as you can see it’s taking place in a cafeteria of a school. First Lady Obama, is really trying to reach the children, because childhood obesity ahs skyrocketed. and what better what to reach kids than having a song they can dance to.

The song takes you through different dance moves, and she is tapping into the hottest dance trends, like the dougie, I aint even gonna lie, I hit that dougie when I listen to the song. She also threw the cat daddy, which is my guilty pleasure in life lol. along with that she implements quick dance steps from both the Caribbean and Latin America.

I love this song, I have it on ivy my ipod and I be jammin, so lets go folks, i know you’re feelin the song so get up and Move Your Body!

R.I.P Elizabeth Taylor

Yes you read that right. The oscar winning actress,Elizabeth Taylor passed away early this morning from congestive heart failure. She was hospitalized for for six weeks prior to her death at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is most known for her role a Cleopatra! However beyond that, Taylor starred in over 50 films, and had an awesome career. My heart and prayers go out to her family and friends.

 

The family has asked that to show your support or sympathy, that if you would like, in lieu of flowers donate to Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

Word on the street is ms. Nicki Minaj was filming her newest video, but was making a point to not say which song becasue she wanted to surprise her fans. But you all know there is always one person that doesn’t listen. a Model/Singer named Toyin Koyejo was suppose to play the leading role in the video (yay! him) but then I guess he got a lil egaer and decided to tell the world on twitter the name of the video COM’N SON! really!

needless to say Nicki’s team caught wind of it, and basically let him not he violated his confidentiality agreement and he was demoted to yet another face in the background…awww to bad for you.

Imma need people to learn that twitter will get yu in trouble ESPECIALLY WHEN DEALLING WITH SECRETS….oh and multi-platinum artist like Nicki Minaj…#blonemoment

JoJo is making her way back

so i know it’s been forever since i posted but i am back and ready to write. But i have a question…do any of you remember the singer JoJo. she was hot for like half a second, but she could actually sing? yea her! I was cruising the blogs the other day and as always concreteloop has my back becasue homegirl has a new song! WHAT?!?! yes folks JoJo has a new song out and I’m in love with it. I have had it bumpin on ivy the ipod for the last 24 hrs.

Its called Paper Airplanes…interesting title, and I won’t do a spoiler alert. WHY? because I think you should listen to it for yourself. You will pleasently surprised, and rather pleased. NOt but forreal the song is good, its a good starting point for her ot get her grown woman on and get back out there. because she was talented back in the day, but she had an awkward combination of pop music appeal with a soulful voice and but was super young.

But yea you guys, go check out the song!
